Super stable water-based magnetic fluid as a dual-mode contrast agent

Abstract Early diagnosis of cancer has become one the effective ways to prevent and treat cancer. At present, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) based on nanosized iron oxide with no toxicity excellent biocompatibility attracted much attention. But poor stability fluid (MF) is becoming more prominent. In view MF, dodecanethiol-poly(methacrylic acid) (DDT-PMAA) as an outer shell was prepared for MFs (Fe 3 O 4 @DDT-PMAA MF) improve stability. We also compared amount reactants, ratio reaction temperature, finally screened out best conditions, so get stable products. The system studied by visual observation, index ( I ), weight change. results demonstrated that Fe can be than 60 days. T 1 mapping image showed longitudinal relaxivity r ) value 6.9 mM −1 s (1.5 T, room temperature), which higher commercial contrast agent SHU-555 = 2.9 but transverse 2 accounted 64.48% Feridex 67.8 , 1.5 temperature) because outermost layer encapsulated a polymer. addition, effect vivid there almost background interference - -weighted images in vivo indicated MF exhibited potential MRI applications.
